The
Nuts + Berries rollercoaster played something between an open rehearsal and a morgue tonight. The “little surprise show” scheduled for
Quixote’s True Blue got inexplicably moved at the last minute to
Dulcinea’s 100th Monkey. Madness ensued. Many fans got lost along the way. The new venue was a charming bar next to a porn shop and a block away from a
Korn concert at the
Fillmore. I saw no perverts or Korn fans at Dulcinea’s.
I made quick work of the hippies in the bar, driving most of the patrons out the front door by the end of the second song. And there was a large
“Bitches Brew” mural by the toilets. I guess it was an OK night after all.
Thanks to Superfan Sara Armijo for being there. She got to hear this setlist: Edgar Song/The 1st Year Sex Didn’t Sell/Dayglo Cowtown/A Good Friend is Hard to Find/Feet in the Snow/Li’l Fingers/A Better Mousetrap/Meth Mouth.
“Meth Mouth” is a weird set closer but at some point you have to take the horse out behind the barn and shoot it.
The Quentin Young Band turned in a nice set, though. Their sound man amused himself by running Quentin’s vocals through about 10 seconds of delay.

A new song by the Bedsit Infamy is up. Visit the band’s MySpace page and click on “Hey! Hey!” in the music player. Hope you like it.
The song will appear on the band’s next LP, if there is another LP.

Like Nuts + Berries, Bedsit will perform May 7 at the Oriental Theater.
I played a Nuts + Berries show at the Meadowlark two weeks ago. In case you missed it…
Forgive Your Hometown/Look at all the Progress/A Better Mousetrap/A Good Friend is Hard to Find/Meth Mouth/Flevoland/1st Year/The Edgar Song/Arch Deluxxx
I keep these so I can make sure I don’t play the same setlist twice. It was a fun show with lots of showboating and horseplay.
Next up, a May 7 show at the Oriental Theater with The Bedsit Infamy and others. Hope to see you there. There might be another show before then, too. Exciting stuff.
Bedsit Infamy had a great show last Thursday with Little Dead Things. A Sara Armijo photo:

I tossed the bass on the floor for one of the songs, but this wasn’t taken during that song.
We played every song incredibly fast. Live debut of “The Airport, The Hospital and Mexico” from the LP. We’ve finally played every song off the record live. It only took a year.
Next up for Bedsit: A show at the Oriental Theater on May 7.
