Preserved for posterity

I played a Nuts + Berries show at the Meadowlark two weeks ago. In case you missed it…

Forgive Your Hometown/Look at all the Progress/A Better Mousetrap/A Good Friend is Hard to Find/Meth Mouth/Flevoland/1st Year/The Edgar Song/Arch Deluxxx

I keep these so I can make sure I don’t play the same setlist twice. It was a fun show with lots of showboating and horseplay.

Next up, a May 7 show at the Oriental Theater with The Bedsit Infamy and others. Hope to see you there. There might be another show before then, too. Exciting stuff.

Come one, come all

There’s a show happening Thursday night.

Thanks to Sara for the flier.

Fun with Ableton

I spent a few hours this afternoon running through my songs to prepare for the Meadowlark show on Jan. 15.

Ableton Live, the software I use for Nuts + Berries, makes it hard to just practice the songs. I’m constantly stumbling onto new ways to stretch and squish the sounds.

For a taste of how Ableton works, here’s a YouTube video approximating how Daft Punk used the program on their most recent tour. (It might be easier to follow in full screen mode.)

Bittersweet, Part 2

This made me feel better about the very nice preview for my very canceled show that I wrote about here.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Meadowlark on Jan. 15. That’s a Thursday.
